Life Expectancy Dataset :: Frequently Asked Questions

When will more datasets become available to query?

Datasets will be added to LA HealthDataNow! on an ongoing basis. If you can't find the information you are looking for, contact the Unit of the Department of Public Health that deals with your specific health topic, and they may be able to provide you with summary statistics.

How often are datasets updated?

Generally, as soon as new data becomes available. However, there can be a considerable lag time between events occurring and data being processed. For example, mortality data for a given year is usually not cleaned up and ready for analysis until one to two years later. Thus, even though we make every effort to provide you with the most up to date datasets, some of them may contain statistics from one or two years ago. We hope this isn't too great of an inconvenience!

Public Health has made reasonable efforts to provide accurate translation. However, no computerized translation is perfect and is not intended to replace traditional translation methods. If questions arise concerning the accuracy of the information, please refer to the English edition of the website, which is the official version.
